This invigorating
work makes great use of percussion. Reminiscent of Holst's famous
portrayal of Mars, the driving rhythmic motif is immediately
introduced with rhythmic hits reinforced in the upper brass and
woodwinds. Several themes are layered for an effect that is easy to
achieve with bands at this level. A brief lyrical section provides
some creative harmonies which will help develop the musicianship of
your band. The opening material then returns for a powerful
