Abstract, musical,
thought provoking — these all describe this innovative
one-movement work by Erik Morales. Staggered entrances in the brass
set the stage for the main theme, and the use of minor chords gives
the work the sound of a fantasy film score. This is an excellent way
to teach concepts of texture, tension, and release, while engaging
your students with some extremely creative writing.
