Carolyn C.
Setliffs piano studio in Little Rock, AR, is comprised of
students ranging from six to sixty years of age. She enjoys composing
and arranging for her students and teaching them to create original
compositions. Her students have won local and state competitions in
piano performance and composition and are encouraged to share their
musical talents with friends, family, church, and the community.
A native of
Louisiana, she graduated cum laude from Centenary College in
Shreveport, LA with a degree in business. She obtained a B.A. in
Music from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Carolyn holds
national and state certification and is an active member of the
Arkansas State Music Teachers. In 2002, ASMTA named her Independent
Music Teacher of the Year. She has held several offices in the
Central Arkansas Music Teachers Association, has presented
programs at local and state music teachers meetings. Carolyn
has served as adjudicator for festivals in several states. She
welcomes the opportunity to mentor new piano teachers and offers
informal workshops for them periodically.
Carolyn has been
involved with church music most of her life, as a choir member, vocal
soloist, piano accompanist, organist, and bell choir director. She
enjoys singing, and is one of the soloists with the Arkansas Chamber
Singers and Arkansas Choral Society. She and her husband are parents
of two grown children and grandparents to three granddaughters. |
