As a pianist,
Christine Strelow (C. S.) Wolf has a Bachelor of Music, cum laude,
from St. Cloud State (MN) and did her Masters studies at the Hartt
School of Music in Hartford, CT. She was awarded several Minnesota
MTA honors, a Paderewski Medal and Guild Diploma as a student. She
was the Minnesota's Collegiate Young Artist of 1986.
As an enthusiastic
teacher, she considers her studio content and successful; many
students have grown into lifelong musicians. She is busy at the local
and state level doing masterclasses, presentations, and workshops on
a wide variety of topics. Chris gives full day lecture/performances
of the piano solos in each new Festival Bulletin around the Midwest,
most recently in 2003. She has published workbooks in conjunction
with the Bulletins in 2000 and 2003, and is planning a 2007 tour.
Chris is an
inventorlook for her Bag O' Blocks, a theory teaching
toy and her POGO Sticks Postit Notes. Her active
participation in the Federation of Music Clubs, the Minnesota Music
Teachers Association, Music Teachers National Association, American
College of Musicians, National Guild of Piano Teachers as an
adjudicator, site chair, board member, and worker bee gives her many
great ideas to develop a student's love of music.
Chris is Minister
of Music at her church, has written hymns and choral pieces, and is
currently working on a CD of original Christian music for Prayer
Shawl Ministry. She wishes you much joy in your music making.
