Dr. Julie Ann Ballard

Julie Ann Ballard is a pianist, organist, conductor, composer and arranger with a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles in Music Education and a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance with a secondary major in Piano Pedagogy. Dr. Ballard is an avid performer, award winner and published researcher. Her pedagogical intermediate piano solo The Crazy Scientist published by The FJH Music Company Inc. was listed on the National Federation of Music Clubs Festivals Bulletin.

Dr. Ballard presented her music education research on music content in modern elementary piano methods and neuroscience studies documenting the effects of instrumental music study on the brain at the biennial National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy in 2011, 2013 and 2015. She serves as the newly appointed Chair of the California Association of Professional Music Teachers (CAPMT) for the acclaimed annual Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) Competitions in Performance and Composition. Dr. Ballard works with various choirs in Southern California as accompanist, director, composer and arranger. She is a former piano faculty member of San Diego State University's Community Music School and currently runs a prestigious piano studio in Orange County, CA where she has worked as an esteemed teacher and performer for over 10 years.
