Pianist
Martín Cuéllar is Assistant Professor of Piano at
Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas. He received his Doctor
of Musical Arts and Master of Music degrees in Piano Performance from
The University of Texas at Austin. As a Rotary Scholar, he studied at
The Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid, Spain, where he received
the diploma in piano performance. Dr. Cuéllar has also done
additional research and piano studies on the music of Enrique
Granados at the Marshall Academy of Music in Barcelona, Spain.
An active
performer, Dr. Cuéllar has played concerts in the United
States, Mexico, Brazil, and Spain. He frequently serves as
adjudicator and workshop clinician in piano competition and workshops
throughout the Midwest and other parts of the United States. A member
of the National Guild of Piano Teachers, Dr. Cuéllar has
served as Chairman of its International Piano Composition Contest
since 1995. Four of Dr. Cuéllars piano compositions are
currently in the required repertoire list of the National Federation
of Music Clubs.
