Hero's Journey
A great piece to
play. It was very easy to visualize the hero's journey. This has
pain, passion and triumph... awesome to play, awesome to listen to.

One of our

the peacefulness.

This music is a
very fun piece to play. It is sure to catch your attention if you
hear it. We are playing this in band (7th grade) at South Pointe
Middle School this year. Last year, we went to Regionals and
Festival, and I'm sure this piece will take us there again due to the
fact that everyone loves to play it and plays it in their spare time.

This piece was one
of my favorites because it had so many moods to it. It was slow, and
sad at points and happy another. I love playing it!

It's my absolute favorite. I am in a concert band in 7th grade and my
band is playing this and everyone loves it. We are playing it at our
concert. It is stuck in my head day and night because it's just so
catchy! Tthanks for writing it!

This song pretty
much gives me chills to play. I love the "jungle section"
as i like to call it with the trombones and saxophones. and the
syncopation and layers of different rhythms all lay together sounding
really complicated. I love how majestic and powerful it sounds, but
has the dramatic tempo change inside of it. The horn part at the end
is impressive too if you have that kind of strength in your band program

We're playing this
song for our middle school concert and we sound really good! I love
the dynamics in this song! The message that comes from it is so
strong too.

I performed this
is the spring of 2007 with the Calvert Hall College High School
Symphonic Band. I have to say it's amazing. We actually had Mr.
Balmages come to our school and help conduct. It's an amazing piece
of work.

Capital Ship
My late father was
a Navy physician and a world champion U.S Masters swimmer. He often
commented that he would pace his butterfly and breastroke events to A
Capital Ship for an ocean trip.... However, I, having never
heard the song could not relate until I found your site. Now I'd like
to find the words and music together. I too am a swimmer and am in
the Navy, so I will continue the legacy.

I did this piece
with my 1st year (4th grade) band in our spring concert 07'. The kids
loved this piece. They often got in trouble in school for singing it
in the hallways a bit too loud! The piece is absolutely accessible
and loads of fun to rehearse. We used a Gong Cym instead of an actual
gong, and it worked great. EVERY percussionist wanted that part!!
This is a very effective opener.. overall an excellent piece with
lots of opportunity to work with contrast in dynamics and following melody.

Trilogy
What a sea-worthy
piece! As a clarinet player I really enjoyed how the woodwind parts
at the beginning really seemed to flow. Truly, I can assure any band
director that Sea Trilogy will provide entertainment in their next concert.

Cancerto
I did this piece
with my beginning 4th grade band. (I had very skilled drummers who
have been taking lessons since they were younger than 9 play the
metal trashcan part). My band played this song amazing!!! The parents
loved it, (the band and I received two standing ovations) the kids
loved it, and when we performed for the school they loved it too.
They could not believe what these 4th graders were playing and doing.
Thank you so much for a wonderful composition... now I have to figure
out how to top Trash Cancerto for next year

I played this
piece when I was in 7th grade. I go to Mariner Middleschool. My band
director had this piece written just for our band. You will see that
the section in it called "Wrath of the Tritons" is about us
because our mascot is the Triton. I recommend this music to all
schools because it is a piece that everyone will want to play and
practice. It really sounds just like you are on a pirate ship! Even
though I don't have to practice it anymore I still play it every
chance I get because it is so addicting! I almost have the whole
thing memorized!

Comments on: Beyond
the Summit
The Findlay Civic
Band -- of which I'm the librarian -- is playing this piece this year
as part of our 56th annual series of concerts. Beyond the Summit
has challenged our all-volunteer band -- especially for us in the
percussion section (of which I'm a part) -- but is an absolutely
wonderful piece which fits into our first-ever Fourth of July concert
entitled "Let Freedom Ring". I hope our director Jack
Taylor continues to choose charts from Brian -- this is a great piece
and I know it will be a crowd pleaser!

Music Soon Hee Newbold
Over the past
several years I have had my kids play three of Soon Hee Newbold's
pieces. I can highly recommend any one of them! I have never been
disappointed in anything she has written. My kids and I love them and
they are great teaching pieces. We have played A
Knight's Quest and Celtic Roots.
I know that any piece of hers that I order will be a success.

Comments on: Celtica
This is a
wonderful piece. To my surprise, my son (a senior in his orchestra)
was given the opportunity to play the advance solo part. I wept not
only with pride but the piece is very moving. Thank you for Celtica.
This solo has changed my son's mind, he has now decide to
pursue his college degree in music. He got a standing ovation and
request of an encore. Who would have thought a beautiful piece of
music would change a life and it has .
