Comments on: Calling
Dr. Chops
I play Bass
Trombone for the Miles Mac Jazz Band from Miles Mac, and I have to
say that this song is simply fantastic. It's brought our band to a
whole new level, and it has knocked our audiences dead every time
we've used it. It's a kicking tune, and I look forward to getting to
explore the other great charts from this company with my Jazz Band!

Comments on: Spirit
of The American West
Ms. Newbold you
make us very proud as an orchestra to play your music. We have played
and performed every piece of string orchestra music you have written.
The piece Spirit of The American West was a big hit for the
audience; we received a standing ovation for the song in front of
1500 people. Thank You Ms. Newbold for making music come to life.

Comments on: Ships
Of Ireland
My orchestra
teacher decided to use the song Ships of Ireland to play for
our contest and we received a Superior rating three times in a row
for that song. I love this piece because Soon Hee gives every section
of the orchestra a part to shine. We also played Dragon Dances
for our Winter Concert and Contest and we also received a 1 Superior
rating. Soon Hee thank you very much we are never disappointed by
music. Your music will forever be apart of our orchestra.

Vinci Sketches
I am a
percussionist/timpani player at my middle school band. It is a
beautiful concert piece. It is difficult, but if you practice at it,
you can do it. If you are considering buying any piece for a really
good middle school or high school band, I highly recommend this one
out of the songs our band plays or that I have heard any other band play.

Comments on: Beyond
the Summit
I played clarinet
in the All-County Band last month and had the pleasure of being
directed by Mr. Balmages. Even listening to the recording is
extraordinary, but playing it literally brought tears to my eyes. I
felt connected with everybody in the room it moved me beyond
further words. Anyone, no matter their background, will connect with
this piece when they hear it and especially when they play it.

Hi, I'm Jill and i
am an oboist in the Bailey Middle School Band. We went to The Midwest
Clinic this year in Chicago and played this song! i love it so much
and it has such an awesome melody. Our band met David Shaffer and he
was pretty impressed that a middle school played this song.

Hi! I am a Flutist
at Alamein Intermediate. My band director Mr. M had chosen this piece
for us and I personally like this piece, because it is just so
exciting to play. Well, I hope there are more pieces like this that I
could play.

Comments on: Flight
of the Griffin
This is by far the
most excellent modern piece of music I've played yet. Challenging to
play, amazing to listen to; and my bassoon and I have been around the
block. When handled properly, Flight of the Griffin is awesome.

I am a trumpet
player at Enid High School in Enid, Oklahoma. This is one of the most
fun songs we have ever done. Brian Balmages is one of the best music
composers and I thought he should know. Good luck in the future
writing music, Brian.

I played this
piece last year when i was in 7th grade. The whole band loved it and
as a Tuba player i loved the low brass soli. We went to District
festival and scored all ones with this peice as well as twos at
state. I would recommend this to middle school band directors.
