Christopher Goldston Early Elementary Fiesta Cha-Cha W9201 / 2.50 In this original composition, Goldston inspires us to explore the sounds and rhythms of a traditional Mexican piece. This early elementary work is written in Middle C position, making it easy to learn and memorize. Its rich use of staccatos, slurs, and accents serve as a valuable tool in the teaching of phrasing and articulation.   Sweet Dreams W9049 / 2.50 The tender, rocking motion of this early elementary lullaby is perfect for studying legato in both hands. Listen to a Sample: The Lady and the Dragon Temple Breezes W9202 / 2.50 Originally part of Fantastic Fingers, Book 2, Temple Breezes is now available as a stand-alone solo sheet. Parallel fifth whole notes in the left hand deliver an ancient sound to start, while quarter notes outline the breeze in the right hand above. A lovely, ongoing pedal effect is later introduced, turning the piece into a kind of wind chime that's fun to play and hear! Great for teaching students how to sustain a long, melodic line.   Early Intermediate Ragtag Rag W9203 / 2.50 Originally part of Fantastic Fingers, Book 3, Ragtag Rag is now available as a stand-alone solo sheet. Its sauntering, lazy tune delightfully trips along with fun, rhythmic articulations (triplet figures; clipped, staccato phrasing). Some raised and lowered neighbor tones offer additional melodic interest. A gentle, chromatic base line also leads the rag toward its conclusion. So Goes the Moon W9227 / 2.50 This inquisitive, celestial piece has a wondrous five-note melody. So Goes the Moon has a kind of Close Encounters theme, but is perhaps best understood as more personal and introspective. Goldston has masterfully written a simple piece, with an eloquent sense of awe.
