This interesting
early elementary level piece is a sweet lullaby written in 3/4 time,
and in an "almost Middle C position." It contains legato
and staccato articulations, one four-measure pedal at the end, and a
lovely teacher accompaniment part. |

This early
elementary piece written in the middle C position is a cute story
about turkeys talkin' and walkin' down the road. The creative lyrics
describe the "hobble and gobble" sounds they make, and an
optional teacher duet part adds to the harmonic texture. Students
will have fun playing this song at Thanksgiving time or any time of
the year! |

Teaching
"swing" is easy with this middle C position piece,
utilizing a "bluesy" flatted 3rd scale pattern that
alternates with the major 3rd pattern. Fun lyrics about Dad and Mom
provide an extra treat! The optional duet part contains a cool
walking bass line and patterned chord changes.

Written in the
style of a country square dance, this piece for the elementary
student is tons of fun to play! The melody flows easily between the
left and right hands with well-placed staccatos that sound just like
fiddles, and the teacher duet part adds the lively feel of a Saturday
night hoedown. |

Late Elementary
This suspenseful piece in D minor is easy
to coordinate so it can be learned quickly
for Halloween. In section A, the L.H. uses
harmonic 5ths and 6ths, the R.H. plays short
phrases with stepwise motion. Section B features
longer legato phrasing with parallel
and contrasting motion – just sing the
lyrics to create the "creepy" creaking. |

Little
Cloud is a sweet sounding late elementary
solo in the key of C that utilizes eighth notes,
8va signs, pedal, and a legato touch. The ending
incorporates a whole tone scale for that extra
dreamy effect.

A moderately fast,
early intermediate piece, That Halloween Cat! starts with a
staccato L.H. against a legato R.H. with repeated patterns played an
octave higher. This selection will put your students in the Halloween mood. |

The grandeur of
the mountain is felt by an opening section of octaves in the LH, and forte
triads played with both hands. The middle section is more idyllic in
nature, with a reflective and melodic cantabile singing style
depiction. The beginning theme returns and is transformed into a
sixteenth-note ascending pattern, conveying the climax of rising to
the top of the mountain! |

This lively
Joplin-esque piece for the intermediate student is tons of fun! The
recurring syncopated pattern in the R.H. is supported by a steady
L.H. accompaniment. Clever use of chromatic accidentals gives the
impression of a tumbling clown as he teases the circus crowd with his
tricks. Sure to be a favorite! |

A lovely melody in
the key of E minor played in the R.H. accompanied by simple sixteenth
note crossover arpeggios in the L.H. This is an effective recital
piece that will also aid in developing basic L.H. patterns. |

A rich and
colorful piece written for the Intermediate level student, A New Beginning
is full of lyrical rubato melodies that leave plenty of room
for musical expression and imagination. Comprised of contrasting
sections of tempi and dynamics, and ending with a soft and reflective
feeling, this piece covers the musical challenges and skill needed to
further advance any student's musical capabilities. |

This intermediate
level solo offers much variety with its three-movement structure. It
can be performed either as a suite or as individual recital pieces.
Each movement focuses on the thoughts concerning the different parts
of time-the first being the expressive Thoughts of Yesterday,
the second a reflective mood in Thoughts of Today, and the
third with a quick forward motion in Thoughts of Tomorrow.
Students will enjoy playing these movements while instilling their
personal "thoughts" and feelings into the music. |

In the key of E
flat major and 4/4 time, this early advanced piano solo is
expressively written to depict the different temperaments of
springtime weather. From the opening single-note legato line
portraying the gentle side of spring, to the next section that
develops the RH into playing octaves and octave chords that reproduce
the sounds of crashing thunder, students and teachers will enjoy the
varying musical descriptions in this springtime symphony.
