Frederick Werle

Frederick Werle

(1910 - 1997)

Frederick C. Werlé was a prolific composer and arranger, published by Boston Music Co., Carl Fischer, Belwin, G. Schirmer, Theodore Presser, and Willis Music Co., among others. He was a graduate of the Cincinnati Conservatory, the Curtis Institute, and received a Master's degree in composition from the Eastman School at the University of Rochester. Frederick studied composition with Martinû and Nadia Boulanger, and piano with Robert Casadesus. For many years he was on the faculty of the Mannes College of Music in New York City, eventually serving as Dean.
